AMICE signs Joint Declaration on ten key factors of an attractive insurance sector

Press Release

AMICE has signed a Joint Declaration with the European Social Partners in the insurance sector on ten key factors of an attractive sector which offers high-quality jobs, valuable skills and fair employment opportunities.

Signed in Brussels on 12 March 2026, the declaration sets out a shared framework for highlighting the attractiveness of the European insurance sector. It describes insurance as a sector that provides financial security, social cohesion, risk management and long-term stability, while operating in a context of transformation shaped by climate change, an ageing population and digitalisation.
The declaration states that Europe’s insurance industry must continue to attract, retain and develop a motivated, engaged and empowered workforce in order to remain relevant and competitive. It also underlines the value of open and constructive social dialogue in ensuring fair and transparent employment relations, supporting quality working conditions and helping address sectoral challenges.
The ten factors set out in the declaration are:

  • Values-oriented and sustainable work
  • High-quality working conditions
  • Varied and innovative work, with a responsible use of AI and digital tools
  • Work-life balance and modern working arrangements
  • Job security
  • Equal opportunities, diversity, inclusion and non-discrimination
  • Access to training and professional development
  • Fundamental rights at work
  • Onboarding
  • Occupational health and safety, including a workplace free from violence and harassment

Across these themes, the declaration highlights fair working conditions, responsible digital transformation, job security, inclusion, continuous learning, workplace rights, effective onboarding and safe, respectful working environments. The signatories also commit to disseminating the declaration widely, encouraging engagement at national level and monitoring implementation through joint review and the sharing of practical approaches and best practice.
